    Jefferson Transit seeks public comment on proposed service changes, scheduled for implementation beginning Jan 30, 2022.

    The Transit Department held two virtual hearings in December 2021 to outline upcoming service changes, as recommended in the New Links Final Network by the Regional Planning Commission.

  • E3 Kenner Local route now ends at Coleman Place

    Effective Aug 25, 2021: Jefferson Transit is no longer authorized to provide service on the E3 Kenner Local route between Coleman Place and the St. Charles Parish line. The E3 Kenner Local route now terminates at Coleman Pl.

  • RIDER ALERT (05/21/2021): All buses heading downtown

    Am route will take Transit lane to Earhart Blvd/Calliope St to Carondelet St to Julia St to Loyola back on route.

    Pm route will exit at Camp St to Julia to O’Keefe Ave back on route.

  • Coronavirus Update – Masks required on all vehicles

    UPDATE: On January 29, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an Order imposing a mask requirement applicable to public transportation systems, rail, and van, bus and motorcoach service providers to mitigate the risk of COVID-19. The CDC Order implements President Biden’s Executive Order 13998, Promoting COVID-19 Safety in Domestic and International Travel, “to save lives and allow all Americans, including the millions of people employed in the transportation industry, to travel and work safely.”

    Masks or cloth face coverings are required for all riders of fixed-route and MITS (download flyer).

WELCOME TO JEFFERSON TRANSIT

Jefferson Transit (JeT) serves the urbanized portion of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.

JeT also provides service to New Orleans and the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. Connecting service is provided to the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) bus lines in Kenner, Gretna and New Orleans.

Jefferson Transit provides both fixed-route, ADA accessible bus service as well as a demand-response, origin-to-destination paratransit van service (known as MITS) for certified riders who are unable to use the fixed route service. Regional Ride – $6.00

The Regional Ride allows riders to easily transfer between JeT and RTA vehicles without having to purchase separate fares.

The pass can be used for unlimited rides on both systems for 24 hours after the first use.

Riders can purchase a Regional Ride pass aboard all JeT and RTA vehicles, through the RTA GoMobile App, and at RTA ticket vending machines.
